Making a dessert worthy berry sauce doesn't require a lot of sugar, or refined sugar. In about 15 minutes, you can have a luscious fresh blueberry sauce that accentuates the natural sweetness of this superfood fruit.
Wash the blueberries and let drain. A little bit of water left of the blueberries is ok.
In a saucepan, melt the sugar and water together over medium heat. Swirl the pan ocasionally.
Once the sugar is melted and starts to bubble add the blueberries to the pan.
Turn the heat up to medium high. Stir occasionally. You want to cok the blueberries just until they burst and soften a bit. The liquid should also thicken a bit.
Remove the sauce to a bowl to cool. It should come to room temperature, or chill in the fridge overnight, in order for the sauce to have a syrupy quality instead of drippy liquid.
