Equipment

  • 1 saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 c blueberries fresh
  • 3 Tb coconut sugar or date sugar
  • 3 Tb water

Instructions

  • Wash the blueberries and let drain. A little bit of water left of the blueberries is ok.
  • In a saucepan, melt the sugar and water together over medium heat. Swirl the pan ocasionally.
  • Once the sugar is melted and starts to bubble add the blueberries to the pan.
  • Turn the heat up to medium high. Stir occasionally. You want to cok the blueberries just until they burst and soften a bit. The liquid should also thicken a bit.
  • Remove the sauce to a bowl to cool. It should come to room temperature, or chill in the fridge overnight, in order for the sauce to have a syrupy quality instead of drippy liquid.
  • Serve room temperature or cold.
